Dear readers of Overdigital.net,

I must apologize for my prolonged absence from the blogosphere. It has been six long years since my last post, and I owe you an explanation. You see, during this time, I have been deeply engrossed in bringing to life the very ideas and concepts we have discussed on this platform. The pursuit of these endeavors required my undivided attention, leaving little room for blogging. But fear not, for I am back, eager to share my experiences and insights with all of you.

Let’s take a moment to reflect on the incredible progress we have witnessed in the world of technology. One area that has truly blossomed is online streaming. It is astonishing to see how far video streaming has come since its early days. It has fulfilled its promise of surpassing cable TV, delivering a vast array of content right at our fingertips. The streaming revolution has revolutionized the way we consume media, and I am proud to have played a part in launching one of the largest streaming services today.

Moreover, the success of virtual reality (VR) has been nothing short of remarkable. For years, we tirelessly searched for that one killer use case that would make VR a game-changer. And finally, during the pandemic, I discovered my own personal breakthrough—the combination of VR and sim racing, brought to life with a motion rig. It is an experience that defies description. Sitting in a virtual cockpit, feeling the adrenaline rush as I navigate every twist and turn, has been an absolute thrill. In fact, I even joined a Sim Racing team, where I am currently the sole user of VR. However, I take solace in the fact that there exists a vibrant community of VR sim racing enthusiasts who appreciate the immersive experience it offers.

The advancements in PCVR have been particularly impressive. The Aero Varjo and the Pimax Crystal have taken VR to new heights of maturity and visual fidelity. And let us not overlook the trailblazing efforts of tech giants like Apple and Meta (formerly known as Facebook), who are pushing the boundaries of augmented reality (AR). The future holds tremendous promise for these technologies, and I am thrilled to witness their continued progress.

While online video and VR have captured my attention, I am equally exhilarated by the advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). The potential of AI to transform various aspects of our lives is awe-inspiring. From enhanced content recommendations to groundbreaking user experiences, AI is reshaping the way we interact with technology. And yes, you may have sensed it in the tone of my writing—my knowledge and enthusiasm for AI run deep.

Now, here comes the surprising part. The very words you are reading, this entire blog post, have been crafted with the assistance of ChatGPT, an extraordinary AI language model. And that eye-catching blog image you see? It was brought to life with the help of the remarkable AI service called midjourney. It is a testament to the incredible capabilities of AI, and I must admit, I have a solid understanding of its workings.

As I wrap up this overdue blog post, let me leave you with a positive note. The world is an ever-evolving place, constantly moving forward on the wings of innovation. It is my renewed commitment to this blog and to all of you, my dedicated readers, to delve deeper into the realms of AI and VR. Together, we will explore the frontiers of these captivating technologies, sharing insights, experiences, and discoveries along the way.

So, stay tuned, my friends. Overdigital.net is back in action, ready to embark on this exciting journey with you. The world awaits, and I am eager to take the opportunity to delve into the realms of AI, VR, and beyond.

Until next time

[Real Jens: I think we can all admit, it’s easy to call out AI blog posts, but will try this again in a year :-)]
